The mission of Second Chance Community Outreach, Inc. (SCCO) is to create opportunities to encourage ongoing rebuilding efforts within marginalized communities worldwide. SCCO believes the best form of capital is education and sustainable growth and collectively we are utilizing resources to demonstrate it.
Our vision is to launch businesses within marginalized communities that grow and scale to nurture generational wealth and establish legacy.
By partnering with SCCO, you are becoming the proverbial "boots on the ground" for a child's first flight outside their immediate community, an aspiring entrepreneur's startup business venture, or a previous generation’s last wish. The opportunities to create second chances are limitless and deeply rewarding. It is never too late for a second chance. Second is anything after one. Life. People. Mission.
Passionately devoted to community outreach, Sheree Darien birthed Second Chance Community Outreach, Inc.to support the local community. SCCO hosted annual conferences for adults and served the youth through “fun days”, field trips, and fundraising events.
Additionally, Ms. Darien has leveraged her banking expertise and expanded her vision. SCC Outreach now serves as the umbrella 501c3 nonprofit organization of Second Chance Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Bank. Second Chance CDFI Bank was created to serve underserved individuals (those left out of the traditional financial mainstream) beginning with microloans for new, minority small business owners. Both entities are vigorously creating innovative ways to reach those in need.
The Second Chance Business Empowerment Fund was established for the South Carolina Lowcountry and surrounding area new, minority business owners. This pilot program is designed to aid marginalized entrepreneurs in procuring funds to start, launch, grow, and scale sustainable businesses. But it’s not just about the money;
we are providing guidance in addition to working capital.
